Wakefield Press 2018 Spring Book Sale

The annual Wakefield Press Spring Book Sale is on again this coming weekend featuring two days of massive discounts, children’s books, and the launch of an exciting new book that breaks the myths around South Australian history.

The annual Spring Book Sale of South Australia’s homegrown publisher, Wakefield Press, is on again!

For two days only, Wakefield Press is offering huge bargains on many of their books including:

  • 3 books for the price of 2 across their full range, including new titles
  • $5 book specials
  • a great selection of kids’ books

Their Spring Book Sale will also feature a Kids’ Corner and lucky dips for all.

Treat yourself or cross a few names off your Christmas gift list from 11.30am – 5pm on Saturday 10 November and Sunday 11 November.

ABC Adelaide’s David Bevan will be kicking off the Sunday festivities at 11.30am with the launch of Foundational Fictions in South Australian History, edited by Carolyn Collins and Paul Sendziuk. This exciting new book is a lively, provocative collection from some of Australia’s leading historians – and a Miles Franklin shortlisted historical novelist – challenging established myths, narratives and ‘beautiful lies’ about South Australia’s past. Some are unmasked as false stories that hide brutal realities, like colonial violence, while others are revealed as simplistic versions of more complex truths.
