SNEAK PEEK: Chinatown Plaza’s Renovated Look

Chinatown Plaza’s soft open yesterday unveiled a modern and sleek design with ornamental greenery.

Chinatown Plaza’s soft open yesterday unveiled a modern and sleek design with ornamental greenery. The plaza has been under renovation since August 2016 with owner Irene Zhang keeping a close eye over the proceedings. All the hard work has paid off and since we had a sneak peek we’ve got all the details for you.

Oriental culinary scents will meet you at the door with a wealth of traditional and regional meals. Yum Cha is a was a favourite alongside authentic Malaysian at Kampung Boy. We can’t say no to home-style dumplings at Dumpling Mama and everyone’s favourite Chinese at Mandarin Duck.

With local seafood, authentic hawker delights, street food that’ll make you believe you’re in Asia and a host of exotic drinks we’re very excited about what this new destination is going to turn into. Trying some treats cemented it as a future dining option for us. The delicious Butterfinger Prawns from Mandarin Duck and the Spicy Laksa from Bandung Boy were both winners in our eyes (or more accurately, our mouths).

Since Chinatown Plaza is still undergoing work, opening hours for the soft open are limited till lunchtimes but we’ve been told that the full open will see way longer hours, with potential dinner services.

If you’re interested in a preview head down to Chinatown but the 21st of July opening will feature four more shops inside with a bigger variety of menus!

Chinatown Plaza is in the old food court on Moonta Street, Adelaide.
