SALA Saturday Street Party Set To Be A Good(wood) Day Out

Food, wine, and plenty free activities for the little ones will take over the precinct for one day.

It’s already been a very arty August on Goodwood Road, with SALA exhibitions up and down the street, and there’s more to come.

SALA Saturday on August 25 will see the precinct taken over by food, wine and free kids activities.

From 12-4pm, Where Art Meets Food and Wine in Gilbert Street ticks the food and wine boxes, with Two Sisters Food and Wine, Cru Tapas Bar and Kitchen, Pizza Pizzaz and Rollin Saigon all serving up street food – think kranskies, paella and pizzazy pizzas for starters, along with some top drops. And keep an eye out for the pink Poppy the Frenchie van.

To keep the little ones amused, there will be plenty of free arty activities on the footpath between Rosa and Gilbert Streets from 10.30am – 2pm. Jake Holmes, one of the artists behind the new Capri Theatre wall mural, will be chalking up a storm on the side of Goodwood Fresh (Rosa Street), and anyone can take along their best colouring in skills and join in. Across the road, community artist Aiyudot Kom, renowned for the quirky art installations on the school fence, will run creative workshops and you can take your creation home.

There will also be free face painting, a sausage sizzle, pasta necklace making, and balloon art, and giant games.

Want to win yourself a a goody bag full of goody road goodies? Take a selfie on the road’s iconic Angel Seat and post with #goodyroad.

SALA Saturday is on from 10.30am-4pm. More info here.
