Renowned Adelaide Artist Set To Feature At Hilton Adelaide

Exciting news from the Adelaide art world today, as Hilton Adelaide announced the artist of their 2017 commission piece in conjunction with the Helpmann Academy.

The commission which is sure to wow guests, staff, and visitors alike, has been offered to Tom Borgas who will be creating a 3D contemporary artwork that reflects the warmth and character of Adelaide and South Australia.

Adelaide art buffs will know Tom’s work already, with his work having been exhibited at shows and galleries around the country including the Contemporary Arts Centre of South Australia, The Jam Factory, Salamanca Arts Centre in Hobart, FELTspace ARI, Hatched 2013 and PICA Salon 2014.

The work focuses on drawing attention to the ever-growing digital nature of our lives by presenting motifs of digital technology as actual objects.

Hilton Adelaide’s general manager, Peer Norsell, has expressed the group’s thanks to the artists that submitted proposals for the program, “The process of identifying an artist and artwork has been a delightful experience, noting the incredible artistic talent that we have in South Australia.”

We here are Glam can’t wait until early next year when the piece is set to be completed. It will be situated in a high traffic and operational area where hotel staff, guests, business and clients from all over Australia and the world, will view what is sure to be a fantastic representation of our state and the talent that is developed here.
