FIRST LOOK: Malt Shovel Taphouse Opens Today

Looking for somewhere to plonk yourself for the summer? Say hello to this cracking spot.

Looking for somewhere to plonk yourself for the summer? Meet Malt Shovel Taphouse.

The new Aussie craft beer bar and rotisserie restaurant is taking over the space underneath the Festival Centre, which housed pop-up bar Neon until June.

From it’s opening, Malt Shove Taphouse will boasts great outdoor space with views of Adelaide Oval, the footbridge, and the Torrens. Talk about a cracking spot for the warmer months!

The venue is operated by Adelaide Oval under a license agreement with Lion Co., so expect to find a huge range of their beers, like James Squire, Little Creatures, and White Rabbit Brewery.

Food will be a rotisserie-based menu using local produce, designed to match perfectly with beer. There will be chicken, rolled lamb forequarter, and Clare Valley scotch fillet from the spit and a number of rotisserie rolls featuring each of the meats paired with delicious fillings like slaw, avocado salsa, and pickle fennel.

Malt Shove Taphouse also caters to your group catch-ups with plenty of share plates boasting dishes like Hiramasa Kingfish ceviche tacos, crumbed and spiced swiss mushrooms, and truffle and parmesan fries (which are to die for).

And with such a well stocked bar, every dish has the perfect drink to go with it! Just ask one of the knowledgeable staff for a recommendation. While they’ve got an impressive stock of beers, there will also be a whole menu of local South Australian wines for you non-beer drinkers out there!

And there will be room for everyone, with designated space for the whole family to head in and dine.

This could just be the beginning for Malt Shovel Taphouse—they have plans to expand the concept across the country.

Keep an eye on their Facebook page for any updates! And have a look below for more pics.
