Sarah Marquis is the CEO and the chief winemaker of the McLaren Vale wine label, has been recognised as the best Owner/Operator of the Year at the Women in Wine Awards.

The 2018 Australian Women in Wine Awards happened last week and the chief winemaker of one of South Australia’s most prestigious wineries has been recognised as the best Owner/Operator of the Year.

Sarah Marquis is the CEO and the chief winemaker of the McLaren Vale wine label. Mollydooker Wines has had Sarah at the helm since 2017 and has achieved consequent international success.

From a family owned winery to an overseas favourite, Mollydooker Wines won the the Business SA 2017 Regional Exporter Award. It’s not surprising since over 80% of Mollydooker’s production is being exported around the world.

“I immediately took steps to increase the level of professionalism in management and to realise Mollydooker’s full potential” says Sarah.

“By cultivating a collaborative working environment, introducing accountability and empowering my team we have been able to grow all aspects of the business.”

Her presence is seen in the numbers, in the last year, Mollydooker’s local SA market has also grown by an additional +100%.

She’s not slowing down either, ahead of the warm summer months, Sarah is set to launch her solo project, the ‘Fun Series’. Perfect for a wide range of palates, you can expect a “tropical sparkling verdelho,” and a “delightfully aromatic merlot rose.”

The Fun Series launches on the 22nd of November.
