Donald Trump eat your heart out – Adelaide has a whole network of budding entrepreneurs waiting to take on the business world.

From a “celebrity” party-planner to an international television promoter, the Highway’s Apprentice competition has highlighted some of Adelaide’s best young entrepreneurs.

Sponsored by Glam Adelaide, the Highway’s Apprentice encouraged young people to submit ideas for a major event at the Highway, with four finalists now chosen.

All four will be vying for the major prize of $5,000 cash and trip for 2 to LA – including entry to some of LA’s hottest nightspots

The Highway’s Tom Williamson said the standard of entrants was extremely high and the four finalists represented a diverse mix of Adelaide’s next generation of entrepreneurs.

“We were extremely impressed with the talent that came forward for this competition, and believe the final four have an excellent mix of passion, celebrity, enthusiasm and commitment,” he said.

The four finalists in Glam Adelaide’s Highway Apprentice are:

Loc Tran and Deanna Ortuso – who plan to promote Adelaide to Ellen DeGeneres and the entire world by hosting an interactive mock Ellen talk show with special guests, music and talent, showcasing the best of Adelaide to an audience of Ellen look-a-likes, and holding the biggest choreographed Ellen dance. The ultimate aim is to get the attention of Ellen DeGeneres and encourage her to visit Adelaide!

Monnie Kleine – our Charity Queen who hopes to raise much needed funds for charity. Monnie will be hosting a fancy and traditional High Tea with a candy dessert bar and judging by her entry, her desserts are to die for!

Rob Strempel – is planning a party which is shaping to be a “Who’s Who” of the Adelaide Social Scene.  Rob is  preparing to throw a 30th birthday party for his celebrity son, Nathan! With Rob’s worldly experience and Nathan’s black book, this party has all the elements to be a must on the Adelaide social calendar.

Chloe Chigwidden – “So You Think You Can Sing” is the brainchild of Chloe Chiggy. Budding singers will compete in heats during the week, with the finale on a Saturday night featuring the best (and top vote getters) from each of the heats.

The four apprentice teams will spend the next few weeks learning how to turn their dream event into a reality and begin staging their events in July & August.  The winning team will be announced during the Apprentice finale party held at The Highway on August 20th.
