Retaliation Rocks Musical Theatre

skd283124sdcRetaliation:  Too much for your console, bigger than your TV and louder than your surround sound.

From South Australian playwright Alex Vickery-Howe (‘Once Upon a Midnight’, OZ Asia Festival 2008), and 19 young people from Southern Youth Theatre Ensemble (‘Party House’ 2009), comes a smashing original rock musical that will blow you away!

Meet Becca: She is out to change the world and become the best high school journalist no matter what the costs. But is she ready to take on J.B. Swan, Proton Electronics and a whole virtual reality? In her quest for truth, Becca finds herself slammed into the middle of an intergalactic war for peace where everything is strange and violence is the norm.

This production is the result of a partnership between SYTE and Impact (promoting non-violence), dealing with the impact of violence on young people in the south. Using the topical environment of a computer game, ‘Retaliation’ focuses on virtual and real world violence and the inability to understand how conflict affects another person.
