Fiji Airways Serve Up A Treat In Celebration Of Its One-Year Anniversary

Fiji Airways has celebrated the airline’s first year in Adelaide with the news that South Australia will the first in the region to see the airline’s brand new Boeing 737 MAX later this year.

Commencing in June 2017, Fiji’s National Airline have now been offering year-round, direct flights between Adelaide and the tropical paradise over the last 12 months. The launch of the service was the airline’s fourth direct service from Australia and the first new route in the market in 10 years.

“We’re thrilled at how successful the direct route from Adelaide has been, and the number of South Australians we are now welcoming to our beautiful home – Fiji.  Furthermore, we know that Fijians are enjoying the convenience and ease of visiting friends and family in Adelaide and experiencing all that South Australia has to offer,” said Shaenaz Voss, Fiji Airways Executive General Manager Corporate Affairs.

“To celebrate a year of flying to this great destination, we’re delighted to announce that Adelaide Airport will be the first in the region to see our brand new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft from December onwards. The new MAX 8s, the first of this aircraft type to operate commercially in the region, will offer our guests superior customer comfort and amenities with modern interiors, reduced cabin noise, better lighting and more overhead cabin space.”

Fiji Airways will start taking delivery of its brand new Boeing 737 MAX 8s from November, with commercial operations from December. The airline’s entire narrow-body fleet of Boeing 737 NG aircraft will be replaced with the modern B737 MAX 8s.

Taking less than 6 hours, Fiji Airways offers a twice-weekly service between Adelaide and Nadi, Fiji, with connecting flights available to its array of idyllic islands, as well as on to North America, including Los Angeles and San Francisco.

At last night’s event at Hotel Richmond, Fiji Airways’ partners and travel agents enjoyed live entertainment from traditional Fijian dancers, Kava and Fijian-inspired cocktails and canapes.

To celebrate the one-year anniversary, Fiji Airways has launched a special Adelaide-Nadi sale with economy fares from as little as AUD$594* return for adults and AUD$198* return for children.  The sale is on until 31 July 2018, for travel up to 30 April 2019.
