Head to Mayfair’s Hennessy Rooftop Bar this Wednesday night to taste the brand new Schild Estate 2016 Narrow Road Vineyard Shiraz Cabernet.

The release of the wine coincides with the celebration of 20 years of the Schild Estate Wine.

After building a land holding of 450 acres of vines over 38 years, Schild Estate Wines was founded as a retirement project by Ed Schild.

Prior to 1998, all the fruit from Ed Schilds’ vineyards was sold to other winemakers in the Barossa. But his dream was  to make a little wine from his own vineyard, so Ed began the process of making his own wine with the help of his children

And the newly released 2016 Narrow Road Vineyard Shiraz Cabernet is a direct expression of Ed’s dream.

The Narrow Road vineyard is a unique site adjacent to the Schild family’s original homestead in a microclimate located in the hills 300m behind the township of Rowland Flat. The land is known for producing superior quality shiraz and cabernet sauvignon and wines with concentrated flavour and long fine tannins.

A deep ruby wine, the 2016 Narrow Road Vineyard Shiraz Cabernet has aromas of  blood plums, blueberry and morello cherries, supported by just a hint cedar and spice.

Want to be one of the first to taste it? Head to Hennessy Rooftop Bar at the Mayfair Hotel on Wednesday November 28 from 4-8pm.

Tickets to the launch are $20 from Eventbrite. Find out more information about the event here.
