Bird in Hand Hits London Town to Launch Latest Venture with Fashion Designer Henry Holland

Awarded as Australian Winemaker of the year not once, but twice shows that Bird in Hand don’t know good wine…they know BRILLIANT wine and have made their mark on wine industry world wide.

Bird in Hand don’t shy away from discussing their belief that wine is a catalyst and part of a broader experience of all the wonderful things in the world like art, music, design and travel. Some of their most exciting collaborations have been driven by this notion. Their Design Collection of home goods and accessories; Italian Range of wine with Milan cook Silvia Colloca with the bottle designed by global fashion designer Dion Lee and Luxury Linens which is a unique collection designed with fashion duo Easton Pearson of special table linen.

Their latest collaboration with acclaimed UK fashion designer, Henry Holland is a 2017 Bird in Hand x House of Holland Sparkling Pinot Noir. Entirely designed by Henry Holland including the slogan “Wine Me Dine Me Please Refine Me” in his signature font with the added touch of a polka dot cork, screams British Fashion. We just want to get our hands on the bottle alone – the wine is a bonus! To celebrate the launch Bird in Hand and Henry Holland hosted a party on the 23rd November at creative hub, The Carousel in central London over an intimate dinner. Guests included pop-star sensations Ella Eyre and Anne-Marie, fashion industry socialites Jack Guinness, Edie Campbell and Pixie Geldof and our very own Rory and Belinda Sloane.

Now our specialty lies with drinking, so, we don’t know much about the winemaking process but…the pinot noir grapes used for this wine were exclusively hand-picked from Bird in Hand’s Woodside estate in the Adelaide Hills and harvested in the cool early Autumn morning to retain freshness and flavour. The fruit was gently whole-bunch pressed, with just enough skin contact to produce a delicate blush salmon pink colour. The wine was fermented with a champagne yeast before undergoing a second fermentation via the Italian ‘Charmant’ method. The result is a very delicate sparkling wine, with hints of strawberry, red apple and rhubarb on the nose. Now doesn’t that just sound divine!?!

You can purchase the 2017 Bird in Hand x House of Holland Sparkling Pinot Noir is available to purchase online here for $40.
