Adelaide’s Getting A New Hotel Inspired By The Central Markets

They already inspire many to cook up a storm in the kitchen or just create a mean cheese board, and now the Central Markets will be the inspiration for a brand new hotel.

They already inspire many to cook up a storm in the kitchen or just create a mean cheese board, and now the Central Markets will be the inspiration for a brand new hotel.

Sitting on Market Street just across from the Central Markets, Hotel Indigo Adelaide Markets is set to open in 2020.

The 16-storey boutique hotel will include 137 rooms, meeting spaces, a gym and level four pool with sun deck, plus a cafe and rooftop bar.

These images were part of the council submission, so they may change, but the hotel is expected to look a little something like this:

Developers have said Adelaide’s Hotel Indigo will draw on the personality of the markets through distinctive architectural and interior design that will flow through the hotel.

The hotel, which will shortly commence construction, will be the first Hotel Indigo in Adelaide. It’s owned by IHG, who also own Holiday Inn Express, InterContinental and the soon-to-open Crowne Plaza.

It will be the sixth signing for the brand in Australasia, alongside Hotel Indigo Brisbane Fortitude Valley, Melbourne Docklands, Sydney Central, Melbourne Little Collins Street and Auckland.
