Adelaide Fringe: 5 Events to See at Woodville Town Hall This Fringe

With the 2018 Fringe season kicking off this week. The Charles Sturt Council has collaborated with Emma Knight productions to create a family friendly Fringe program that has something on offer for everyone.

The Iconic Woodville town hall has recently undergone a transformation in order to create a lively and inclusive entertainment venue in that celebrates the community. And they’re relaunching it with the help of the Fringe!

With the 2018 Fringe season kicking off this week. The Charles Sturt Council has collaborated with Emma Knights Productions to create a family friendly Fringe program that has something on offer for everyone.

Located in Adelaide’s west and in the heart of the Charles Sturt community, the Woodville town hall is the perfect venue to locally showcase an array of talent at this year’s Fringe. Glam Adelaide was invited along to preview of what the Woodville town hall has to offer at this year’s Fringe. We were treated to a cocktail of talent. From fairies to kinky cabaret shows here are five shows to see that would make a fun adult only night out or an eventful family day at the newly Revamped Woodville town hall this Fringe season…

Glo Train Dance Party  

With a little help from the audience, the local Fame Train Dance Company to create the ultimate dance party. This vibrant and high energy show has something for everyone with its kid friendly dance party which is a bit of fun for kids from 5 to 9 runs on March 16th. While its special adults only show which will have you feeling like you’re in a nightclub runs from February 26th to 27th.

International Women’s Day Festival

What a better way to celebrate International Women’s Day on the 8th of March than to shine a light upon their talents and accomplishments both past and present. This year the Fringe is celebrating the day that is all about commemorating and empowering women by hosting the International Women’s Festival. The festival will feature talks, stories and live music by inspirational women who have been personally selected by the community.

Mr Badger tells the story of The Wind and the Willows

Bring your children along and unleash your inner child for a playful rendition of the beloved and classic children’s story The Wind and the Willows. This interactive show features and cane toting Mr Badger who tells the classic story that’s all all about nature, friendship and the infamous Cane Toad.

Humphrey

Australia’s most beloved Bear in a hat is back! Appearing on February 28th and March 2nd to 3rd, come join this iconic bear as he explores the magic garden. While it is aimed to be a children friendly show it will have you feeling nostalgic about your own childhood when Humphrey used to grace out TV screens.

Fifty Shades of Swingesque

Have a little adult only fun this Fringe season by taking in some kinky cabaret. Come see this local Cabaret group as they unleash their inner showgirl with their sultry dance moves and vocals all the the theme of the sexy wold wide phenomenon in Fifty Shades of Swingesque.
