24.two Is On The Way

For those who missed 24.one last year, the unusual concept of this mini theatre festival is (in short) that, after randomly being assigned their topics and rules at the launch party of the festival, five teams of playwrights, directors, actors and technicians must band together to create a one-act play each, only 24 hours later.

Last year local actor, director, writer, producer, and now theatre festival director, Rachael Williams, brought a popular and experimental form of theatre from Tasmania to the state of South Australia with 24.one. Following its unprecedented success, Rachel and her theatre company, Play.Every.Day, are proud to announce that this year will see the exciting production of 24.two with even more surprises than last year!

For those who missed 24.one last year, the unusual concept of this mini theatre festival is (in short) that, after randomly being assigned their topics and rules at the launch party of the festival, five teams of playwrights, directors, actors and technicians must band together to create a one-act play each, only 24 hours later.

Crazy, right?

What’s truly fantastic about this theatre festival is that it brings together a variety of actors, directors, writers and all-round creatives from around the state (and some from interstate) in what is a true celebration of the diverse craft of theatre. This also means that the range of writing, performances and direction is a mix of a multitude of creative minds working together to give the audience a genre cocktail within the five performances.

This is a mini festival that is built for everyone, from those who’ve had a life-long passion for the arts to those who have never stepped foot inside a theatre in their lives. The variety of performances, genres, scripts and direction allows the audience to have a taste of everything and is a totally inclusive theatre experience for all.

Last year saw a range of varied performances, from those focussed on movement and the human body contrasting brilliantly with those presenting everyday situations that turn into laugh-out-loud comedies, as well as dark internal battles acted out on stage. The beauty of 24 is partially within the mystery surrounding the performances, with the audience unsure of what to expect on the night of the performances (but no doubt they will be pleased).
