Your Guide To What’s On In Adelaide This February

Yes, we’re already approaching February 2018. Which means Fringe is hot on our heels, and not only that but there’s a huge amount of things going on around Adelaide as we make the most of our Summer weather.

Here’s a quick roundup of some of what’s on this month.

Running all through February – The Moseley Beach Club

Come and enjoy South Australia’s first ever beach club, which will be hitting the sand at Glenelg through ’til April. The Moseley Beach Club will operate 7 days a week, with single lounges and day beds available to book. If you don’t want to book a sun lounge or daybed, you can still enjoy The Moseley Beach Club in their open casual dining areas, packed with picnic tables & bean bags and live music daily. February 2 – Laneway Festival 2018
Laneway Festival has already announced their incredible line up for this February including Aldous Harding, Alex Cameron and Amy Shark! Event is 16+ and fast approaching so hurry and grab your tickets! For more info, click here.  

February 2  – First Friday Feasts From the Fire @ Woodstock Wine

Try something different – the first Friday night of each month will see something new and exciting emerge from the wood oven down at Woodstock Wines. $45 per person for a three course shared meal. Running 6:30 pm – 10:00 pm.

February 2 – Statewide Super Women’s League

Women’s footy is back with the second SANFL! The women take to the field for an extended 10-round season, culminating in the Grand Final on Anzac Day at Unley’s Peter Motley Oval. The competition is heating up with Sturt and South Adelaide joining the league this year, along with reigning premiers Norwood, North Adelaide, Glenelg and West Adelaide. The six teams will this year battle for 2018 premiership honours and a total of $20,000 in prize money.  Free entry to all games.

February 2 – 20 20 Strikers Semi Finals

What better way to spend the summer than in the audience supporting your club! Because family entertainment hits finals time! Get non-stop heart stopping entertainment with The KFC Big Bash League. All packed into three hours of explosive, action packed drama-  perfect idea for the family, or an excuse to grab your pals. February 2-3 – Espresso Martini Festival 

Fancy a caffeine-infused cocktail? Espresso Martini Festival ADL has rounded up some of the best Cocktail creators in Adelaide who will be presented with the challenge to make Adelaide’s best “Espresso Martini”. There’s going to be 8 bars at our Festival slinging cocktails and contending to make Adelaide’s BEST Espresso Martini including Bank Street Social, Alfred’s Bar and Electra House! Running from 5pm – 11pm & Saturday 3 February 12pm – 11pm

February 3 –  ‘Steer the Herd’ Charity Dinner @ Seppeltsfield

Organise a fun night out with your pals at Seppeltsfield- all whilst helping raise funds for a research study into the experiences of organ transplant recipients living in rural Australia. Dress code is Formal – with a crack of country! So have fun letting out your dress up and enjoy the Vintage Cellar at Seppeltsfield Wines with award-winning chef Owen Andrews, all with a glass of wine and some truly inspirational guest speakers!

February 4 – Strathalbyn Cup 2018

Where glamour meets racing once again in SA’s Provincial Cup. This is a day for the fashion conscious and the racing purist, with quality racing, Fashions on the Field and entertainment for the whole family. So head on down for a fun and fabulous day at the races starting  11:00 am6:00 pm.

February 9 – Rise Against with SWMRS @ Thebarton Theatre, Adelaide

Rise Against will return to rock Australia and New Zealand in February 2018, joined by special guests SWMRS. The politically-charged, punk four-piece will play seven shows – their biggest headline shows in our countries to date – in celebration of their chart-topping eighth studio album Wolves. February 10 – March 18 – Club Cubano @ Mr Goodbar

Think balmy summer nights, sexy Latino percussions, Cuban cocktails and delicious South-American-inspired tapas. All the while celebrating the second birthday of Mr Goodbar. Yes, please!

February 10 – Wharf Beer & Cider Fest @ The Lighthouse Wharf Hotel

Swing down to the Port for a solid day of South Australian craft beer and cider tap takeovers at The Lighthouse Wharf Hotel. Feat. Big Shed Brewing Co, Sweet Amber Brewing, Mismatch Brewing, CVBC, Little Bang Brewing, Pirate Life Brewing and Hills Cider Co. DJ starts at midday with fresh tunes and all day pub grub and snacks will keep you sorted. Best of all, entry is free!

February 10 – Pol Roger Beach Polo

Australia’s Favourite Beach Polo event, set against the backdrop of the azure waters of St Vincent Gulf. Fashion, Glamour, Champagne, Horses and Athletes return to Glenelg Beach in 2018. Tickets are strictly limited and available here.

February 11 – Hit107’s RNB Vine Days at Leconfield Wines, Mclaren Vale

McLaren Vale is going to be visited by the hottest names in RnB- so get ready! The concert series will showcase Australia’s stunning wine regions at a day on the green venues and host some of the biggest names in contemporary RNB – Boyz II Men and TLC will lead the charge for the summer shows alongside Jamaican-American dancehall maestro Shaggy,  DJ HorizonandYO! February 11 – Adelaide Festival Centre’s Open Day

To celebrate the reopening of Festival Theatre, Adelaide Festival Centre will open to the public for one very special day.  Take centre stage and explore backstage areas and dressing rooms. Running from 10:00 am4:00 pm – so head down with the fam and enjoy Something on Saturday crafts, and music, food, and activities everyone will love.

February 14 – The Grand Bar  

The Grand Bar will be hosting a Valentines Day party this Saturday night. So head on over to celebrate the romance (or lack of) in your life, with all your friends and endless love songs on repeat.

February 15 – March 18th – The Garden Of Unearthly Delights 

Come along and experience Australia’s most vibrant outdoor Festival Precinct. This unique and buzzing festival has everything from carnival rides and street food stalls to quirky pop-up bars and market stalls. A perfect way to spend a warm February night with friends and family.

February 15 – 18  – 2018 ISPS HANDA Women’s Australian Open – Golf Australia

The global standing of any prominent sporting championship can be measured by the names on its trophy – and those on the Patricia Bridges Bowl stand any test. so make sure you stay tuned! February 15 @ 7:00 am – February 18 @ 5:30 pm

February 15 & 16 – George Michael Listen To Your Heart – Adelaide Symphony Orchestra

Remember one of the worlds greatest singers with a night of George Michael tributes at the Festival Centre. Join Hugh Seridan, Casey Donovan, Rob Mills and more to celebrate the life and songs of George Michael. Tix available here.

February 16 – 18 March- Adelaide Fringe Festival 

Get booking your tickets because our favourite festival is fast approaching- The Fringe! Whether its a family night out or a night with the girls, there is a show for every need and opportunity. Not to mention the great food outlets and buzzing atmosphere.

February 16 – GROUNDED 

Here’s something to really get the kids excited! Grounded is a brand new pop-up precinct during the Adelaide Fringe 2018 is opening Friday 16 February and running until Sunday 25th February 2018 in Victoria Square/Tarntanyangga. This amazing festival has everything from film screening to interactive art installations and free workshops- perfect to get the kids spirits up from back to school. February 17 – Gang of Youths with Middle Kids at Bird in Hand

Australia’s best new rock band, Gang of Youths, are heading for the hills this February! Get around an evening of wine and solid Aussie music. Tickets are $89+BF and are available here.

February 17 – 15 Shades of Rosé @ 2KW

From pale salmon, tangerine, ruby strawberry, magenta, onion skin orange to vivid purple and hot pink. Enjoy a delicious ride into fifteen shades of red grapes from Sicily, Piedmont, Provence to an epic selection of some of the best Australian Rosés. February 23-24 – The Love Shack Adelaide

Nova is hosting the ultimate Love Festival for Fringe in 2018. With a spin on speed dating, that means love will quite literally be in the air (on a ferris wheel).

February 24 – Ebenezer Night Markets

The Ebenezer Night Markets are back for the summer. Join us in one of Adelaide’s coolest streets to enjoy some fashion, jewellery, delicious food and all sorts of unique artistic creations! Why not grab a drink at the Market Bar or sit and listen to the Live DJ play some groovy tunes while enjoying the amazing East End atmosphere?

February 24 – Lexus Of Adelaide Presents Tropicana 

Get ready to bring the Tropicana party vibes to Adelaide with LEXUS of Adelaide, Patron Tequila, and Moet & Chandon bringing us the Tropicana Beach Club at the City Beach Volleyball Courts. Prepare to be transported to an exotic Tropicana summer of contagious music, sexy fashion and a whole lot of debauchery.

February 25 – Vivo Tomato 

The Vivo Tomato festival is coming to Nuriootpa bringing tasty, messy, family fun. It’s going to be a big day of family fun all in the name of raising money for a variety of club charities. Local personalities and punters will go head to head in pelting each other with locally grown tomatoes to settle scores and get a tonne of laughs. Event entry is free (gold coin donation collection at gate), with team battle registration is $100 per team (can be up to 5 battlers). Get your group together and register now to get involved for a tonne of fun and raise much needed funds for kids causes.

February 25 – SUPERMASSIVE

The festival will be at Grounded, kicking  off  from 11am on Sunday 25th February and offering a full day of  entertainment through to 7pm. Supermassive is music festival programmed for people of all ages and packed with unique activities. With music, art installations to inspire, creative workshops, plus delicious food and great coffee, be sure to head on down for a day full of quirky goodness. Check out our article here.

February 27 – Queen + Adam Lambert Live in Adelaide

Queen + Adam Lambert toured Australia in 2014 to sold-out arena shows and stunning accolades from fans and critics. The Adelaide date marks the first-time Queen has performed in Adelaide in over 3 decades! This specially designed state of the art production will no doubt highlight the 40th anniversary of News of the World with anthems “We Will Rock You” and “We Are The Champions”.
