You Got To Be Kitten Me! Adelaide’s First Cat Cafe Opens

Oh thank god you’re here meow!

Meow try and get your head around this crazy trend. Adelaide’s first cat cafe, Hashtag Meow, has opened its doors.

Following cities all around Australia and Asia, #Meow, now allows cat-lovers to come and enjoy a coffee while lounging around with the cutest little feline friends.

The resident cats are a mix of the owner’s own pets and rescue cats adopted from the Animal Welfare League. You’ll meet – Ted, Coco, Milk, Converse, Stacy, Ping Ping, Fifi, Leopard and Puss.

The cafe specialises is desserts but assure us the cat play zone and dining room are strictly seperate.

Only eight patrons are allowed in the play zone at a time to ensure the kitties aren’t frightened or overwhelmed. You’ll be looking to pay $6 for 30 minutes with any cafe order or $12 per hour without food/drink order (totally worth it).

Cat cafes are said to have originated in Taiwan in 1998 and later popularised worldwide throughout Asia, North America, Europe and now Australia!

Hashtag Meow, is open from 2pm to 10pm on weekdays and from midday on weekends. But they’re starting to book out pretty quickly so it’s worth the call ahead. You’ll find them located at 499 Payneham Road, Payneham.

What’s next? We vote a puppy cafe!
