Wine Hiking. It’s Something You Need In Your Life.

Wine and hikes is not your typical word coupling, but for Head in the Clouds Wines it’s their forté.

Wine and hikes is not your typical word coupling, but for Head in the Clouds Wines it’s their forté.

The concept of the Wine Hike was created by their winemaker Tom Robinson, who had a passion for hiking in his spare time. A few years ago the concept became a reality, and now Head in the Cloud Wines offer Wine Hikes during the warmer months.

The ideology behind the Wine Hikes is intelligible “Wine is a natural product and nature is a wonderful setting in which to enjoy great wines and fun company.”

A different theme and location is explored on each Wine Hike.

Tom Robinson (Winemaker) and Ashley Coats (Business Operations Manager) pick a theme and then choose a variety of wines – both from Head in the Clouds, and other winemakers, which match up with the concept. These wines are then paired with gourmet picnic goodies provided by the hikers, to share and enjoy as a group.

Comfortable hiking attire and water is a must, so chuck on your favourite active wear, to actually get active in! The duration of the hike is 5 hours, due to plenty of wine consumption stops and a ‘bon vivant’ lunch break.

Tickets are $45, which include a divine Head in the Clouds Wines PC Plumm Glass, as a memento. It is a perfect present idea for foodies and wine lovers, as many like-minded Adelaidians flock to the popular event.

A Previous theme, ‘Super Freak’ explored the wild side of wine and unique blends of varietals, whilst flaunting some of Australia’s most flamboyant and wacky Winemakers and their creations.

Glam Adelaide has been given exclusive access to the new themes that Head in the Clouds will be rolling out this spring.

The themes will be based around songs, which is a new avenue for the themes, and should provide some great conversation and experiences for the Wine Hike enthusiasts.

  • September 17: Bad to the Bone | Big wines, that will impress those who love a bold drop.
  • October 29: He Ain’t Heavy, He’s my Brother | Wines made within families, in particular siblings.
  • November 26: Beyond the Yellow Brick Road | Exploring all the sides of wine, not just the go to.

To book contact Head in the Clouds Wines on their Website, Instagram or Facebook page, bring a friend along and prepare for some charismatic company, delicious food and incredible wines.
