June is fast approaching and with the rain and wind you’ll be tempted to spend the month inside, however, we’ve got just the list that’ll prevent the hibernation months. Pencil in these events for another month of excitement, music, food and wine.

March 29 – July 29 – Colour of Impressionism: Masterpieces from the Musee d’Orsay 
Get a taste of Paris here in Adelaide, more than 65 Impressionist masterpieces from the renowned collection of the Musée d’Orsay in Paris are featuring in the Art Gallery of South Australia. Colours of Impressionism: Masterpieces from the Musée d’Orsay follows the evolution of Impressionism with works of Monet, Renoir, Manet, Morisot, Pissarro and Cézanne, amongst many others. One of the most renowned exhibitions to ever come to Adelaide, its not one to be missed. Buy your tickets here.

1 June – Champagne Wine Dinner with Perrier-Jouet and Mumm
The Champagne and Cognac ambassador for Pernod Ricard, Romaric Behaghel, will host this champagne dinner at the National Wine Centre. The dinner will feature five courses paired with Perrier-Jouet and Mumm vintages. Tickets are available here.

1-24 June – Cabaret Fringe Festival
Equally fabulous, this grittier version of its more polished cousin above, offers an abundance of talent in some of Adelaide’s great venues.  This year’s cabaret program, sees a robust collection of styles and influences from a stunning range of local emerging stars and established international performers for its 11th annual festival. This will see over 45 events across 15 venues to be held from 1 – 24 June. Find out the details here. 

2 June – Fork Just Wants To Have Fun
Held at Harts Mill in Port Adelaide, this will be their last hoorah for the season. Celebrating all things loud, neon and colourful. A huge range of Adelaide’s best food trucks and local SA craft producers. There will be DJ’s playing 80s classic with a dance floor…need we say more? Dress to impress in your favourite 80s outfit with prizes for best dressed.

2-3 June – The High Tea Party
Held at the Hilton Hotel, guests will experience a decadent High Tea Sitting dining in the Grand Ballroom. There will be sandwiches, chocolates, cakes, scones with jam and cream and most importantly, tea. Indulge yourself.

2-3 June – World Environment Fair 
Designed to inform and encourage us to look after the Environment with a range of activities and speakers. Over 85 exhibitors with food and wine, entertainment, lifestyle, nature and tourism exhibits. 10am-5pm at The Adelaide Showground, tickets available.

3 June – ART BAR Spritzer celebration with Koonara Wines 
Italian treats and delicious spritzers at the lovely ART BAR venue. There will be fantastic music from Dominic Anthony Guida and an art exhibition at Emma Hack Gallery, great way to spend Sunday.

3 June  – Gilles at The Grounds 
Adelaide’sfavourite style markets at the Wayville Showgrounds, taking up residence in the Old Brick Dairy, a space steeped in history and grand aesthetics.  With the new partnership between the markets and local creative, Samantha Cox from Artistic Lifestyle delivers an integrative styling approach, reflective of the historical site but also in tune with the market’s vision and vibe.

4 June – Unwind Meditation 
Relax and free your mind. You can de-stress and clear you mind for the week ahead. No matter who you are, meditation can help reduce your stress levels and help you with daily life challenges giving you a positive effect not only for your body but mind.

6 June – Unwind Group Fitness

Every Thursday discover delicious local produce with Urban Eats Project | Lunch Edition. Think winter warming soups, super foods, healthy salads and global food from different local foodies.

7-10 June – The Traveling Table
Ever wanted to learn to cook from your Yaya but realised that you don’t have one? Us too. Luckily turns out the City of Unley heard our thoughts, and are hosting The Travelling Table between 7-10 June this year! More details here. 

8 June – FRESH 92.7  20th Birthday Bash at HQ Complex featuring Shock One 
Electra House Hotel are hosting a night to remember one of the world’s greatest EDM artists, Avicii, and to celebrate his music. In collaboration with Beyond Blue and Entertainment Adelaide, with part of the proceeds supporting mental health and awareness, DJs will be playing tracks by Avicii and friends all night. Find all the details and tickets here. 

8-11 June – Three Days of Darkness at NOLA 
NOLA’s 2nd annual weekend of dark brews is upon us. For three days all 16 of NOLA’s taps will be pouring the dark and the delicious. Make way for the imperial and the barrel aged. Who needs Pale Ale’s anyway? More info here.

8-23 June – Adelaide Cabaret Festival 
YES! It’s back and this fabulous festival is kicking off on the Friday of the long weekend, just in time for us to enjoy EVERY MOMENT OF IT!  Established in 2001 and the biggest festival of its kind, Adelaide Festival Centre’s Adelaide Cabaret Festival is a major event in the international and Australian arts calendar. The festival has garnered a reputation of highlighting the best local, national and international artists through an eclectic program of classic and contemporary cabaret performances.

8 June – 5 August – Waterhouse Natural Science Art Prize 2018

The Waterhouse exhibition contains finalists’ pieces from Australia’s premier natural science art prize and commemorates the birth of the South Australian Museum’s first curator, Frederick George Waterhouse. The prize invites established and emerging artists to present their perspectives on the scientific issues facing our planet, and the exhibition ignites thought and debate among viewers. This year, the Waterhouse includes greater opportunities for artists working in a variety of media to explore and comment on natural science and the world around them. The exhibition comprises finalist entries as selected by internationally recognised judges and is a compelling display of science seen through the eyes of compelling artists.

9 June Lyrebird World Gin Day Takeover at BRKLYN
Brklyn is teaming up with Lyrebird Distilling for a World Gin Day Event! Lyrebird will be taking over the bar and making 3 unique cocktails with their gin.

9 June- World Gin Day @ Howling Owl
This World Gin Day, the Howling Owl are offering a number of ticketed and non-ticketed events. They’ll be launching their International Winter Cocktail Menu (sure to feature plenty of gin-based delights!) to the sounds of a set of DJs till late. And the theme this year is Flight Club (first rule—don’t talk about it), so there’ll be happy hour flights between 5pm and 6pm and from 7pm to 8pm. More details here.

9 June – Gin Fest at Glen Ewin Estate
Come and explore a world of gin at the Glen Ewin Estate Gin Fest. We are celebrating World Gin Day with this epic event designed for the most enthusiastic gin lovers. Meet, taste and discover the best local and interstate artisan gin distillers. Entertainment Adelaide will be the life of the party, entertaining everyone with their unique live DJ, percussion and saxophonist. Snapple Photo Booths will be supplying a Coffee Cart and Photobooth, and Glen Ewin’s amazing bar staff will be mixing delicious Gin Cocktails. 9 June – Inglewood Inn Pear Gin Launch Party
To celebrate World Gin Day the Inglewood Inn will be launching their hotly anticipated Pear Gin in collaboration with Applewood Distillery. Inglewood is the pear district of SA and over the past few years crops have been decimated by hail storms, leaving marked “ugly” fruit that large retailers won’t touch. They’ve decided to use that fruit to make Inglewood Inn gin and create awareness that it doesn’t matter how it looks … what matters is how it tastes!

9 June – Mitolo Wines Truffle Dinner

9 June – Dark Nite at The Warradale 
You’ve heard the saying: join the dark side—they have beer! (What? That’s not how it goes?) The Warradale Hotel’s Dark Nite event is a celebration of local, interstate, and international, so if you’re looking to extend your dark beer palate, this is the time and place. 9 June – Barrel To Bottle at Hugh Hamilton Wines 
Explore three barrels of an identical parcel of Shiraz from the Hugh Hamilton Cellar Vineyard, each of which has been resting in the finest, new oak from a different French Cooperage. The nuances of the flavour and structure between these three barrels are a revelation not to be missed. Mary, alongside our winemaker, hosts an extensive masterclass and comparative tasting of the three Tonnellerie series wines, and members appreciate a Q&A session with our Oak representatives. Hugh entertains members with the vintage and vineyard details and hosts a comparative tasting of French Oak and American Oak. Then, hand bottle and label Shiraz direct from the barrel before indulging in a casual lunch with Hugh, Mary and Nic, catered by Out In The Paddock. 10 June – St Hugo Winemaker’s Dinner
Discover the rich history of St Hugo and immerse yourself in the true essence of the winery set amongst the vines, while they take you on a culinary journey created by locally renowned Executive Chef and recently awarded South Australia Chef of the Year, Mark McNamara. Chief Winemaker, Dan Swincer has carefully selected his favourite dishes and wine matches from the past 18 months to bring you a 7-course dinner matched with St Hugo’s award-winning wines.

15 June – Dinner in the Dark 2018
Experience an exclusive sensory dining experience by suppressing our most dominant sense – sight! South Australia’s oldest charitable service provider, Can:Do 4Kids, is hosting their fifth annual Dinner in the Dark event.  Each table is hosted by a local winemaker who will expertly match the wine to each course and guide guests through the unique, blind-folded dining journey.

17 June – Beer and Cider Festival at The Arkaba
It’s the Ark’s 12th annual beer and cider fest this year. You’ll taste over 80 beer and ciders, dig into delicious street food, win some great prizes and partake in one of our masterclasses. Ticket price includes a tasting glass and ALL tastings (responsible service of alcohol applies).

17 June –  FOR THE OF BBQ’

Up In Smoke is holding a sponsors lunch which will be held at Sneaky Pickle from 12pm – 5pm. The lunch will be open to 70 people and consist of a 4 course meal for $50.00 with drinks being available to purchase on the day. Menu items include: jerk chicken tacos (to start), BBQ brisket, pork, sticky lamb ribs and sides of bacon mac and cheese and more.

22 June – WHAT SO NOT
Playing at HQ Complex, to celebrate the release of his long-awaited album, ‘Not All The Beautiful Things’, BBE, Maker, Sweat It Out & triple j are thrilled to announce that the producer that has been spear-heading Australian electronic music scene, What So Not, will be bringing his insane production to Adelaide this June.

23 June – Catherine House Fundraiser
Trouble and Strife have joined with the Power Women to support Catherine House’s 30 Campaign. Together, they’re supporting the essential work of Catherine House by committing to raising funds to help the expansion of their Emergency Program. The expansion of the program will see an increase from 16 beds to a 20-bed service, creating an extra 1,460 nights of safety for women who may be sleeping rough in Adelaide or are escaping domestic violence. 100% of the coffee sales go to Catherine House – Support for Women Experiencing Homelessness. So come on in, buy a coffee, and help to support the women in our community who most need it.

27 June – Mayura Station Dinner @ 2KW
A dinner celebrating how all our winter favourites; beef, Japanese whiskey, red wine and dark beer, work in a perfect unison. Mayura Station, established in 1845, was one of South Australia’s first pastoral leases. Operated by the de Bruin family on the Limestone Coast, Mayura Station is one of our country’s most awarded full-blood Wagyu Beef producers. The operation is now home to over 8,000 cattle making it Australia’s largest privately owned full blood Wagyu herd.

29 June – Pendulum at AEC Theatre
One of electronic music’s most important and pioneering acts Pendulum will be embarking on their first live Australian tour in eight years, touring this June and July in celebration of their highly-anticipated fourth studio album The Reworks (out 29 June via Earstorm).

29 June – Sydney Roosters v Melbourne Storm
The Sydney Roosters will again host the Melbourne Storm at Adelaide Oval, with the Round 16 match scheduled for Friday, 29 June at 7.25pm. This clash is the only Roosters v Storm match of the season and will be the first time Cooper Cronk lines up against his former Storm teammates. 

29 – 30 June – Hot 100 Winter Harvest
The Convention Centre once again welcomes the Hot 100 Winter Harvest for our drinking pleasure. Meet the makers of your favourite wines with your friends and colleagues. There are also two exclusive degustation dining events so book now to secure your spot!
