It may be absolutely freezing but Adelaide is still busy and bustling with events throughout the week and over the long weekend. So grab your warmest coat and get amongst the new events that are happening this long weekend.

World Gin Day at Prohibition Liquor Co | Friday 9th – Sunday 11th June

Prohibition will kick off the weekend with a special World Gin Day Eve Masterclass, to get you in the mood for World Gin Day. Join the fun and taste six Prohibition Gins from Prohibition’s award-winning range as well as a few never been released to the public spirits.

On World Gin Day, Saturday June 10th, there will be three Masterclasses where Prohibition will be teaming up with Distilleries from South Australia, Newcastle and Far North Queensland to show case some of the best Gins from around Australia.

There’s a heap on. Gin lovers rejoice!

Gin Fest at Glen Ewin Estate | Saturday 10th June

World Gin Day is on June 10th, and the team at Glen Ewin are throwing a huge party to celebrate. 

The stunning, rustic 180-year-old Pulpshed building will have an amazing atmosphere, as many local distilleries offer tastings and drinks prepared directly by distillers. 

Guests get a glass on arrival, so then you can go around and sample some of SA’s best gins, including those from Pot & Still, Dapper Chap Distillery, Heaps Good Gin, Little Bonsai Gin, and Needle & Pin Spirits.

Dark Arts Society: World Gin Day at Gilbert Place | June 10

Step right up and witness the unadulterated chaos that is the Dark Arts Society: World Gin Day on Gilbert Place. It will be a twisted and macabre night of gin-fueled madness, where the dark arts come alive and the spirits run wild.

You’ll be greeted by the sights of live body painting and fire breathers, their flames illuminating the darkness as they dance to the hypnotic beat of DJs out on the street. Witness the spectacle of a giant mural being brought to life before your very eyes, while the tantalising taste of gin beckons you to indulge in its dark and seductive embrace.

Each venue will be completely transformed for the night, unleashing the inner oddities that have been lurking in the shadows.

Cocktails on Canvas at Brightstar Brewing | Saturday 10 June

Celebrate World Gin Day with ‘Cocktails on Canvas’ at Brightstar Brewing. For an unforgettable night, experienced instructor, Paula, will lead you step-by-step through the process of painting one of our signature beer and gin cocktails on canvas. Painting or creative experience is not required, anyone can do it!

For drinks choose between the Heavenly Nectar; Plumberliner G&T Brightstar Punch; Stoutini or Grapefruit Berliner G&T.

Tickets include one Brightstar cocktail and provision of paint, canvas and brushes. Food and further drinks will be available for purchase on the night.

Gin Party at Sôl Rooftop | Sunday 11 June

McLaren Vale’s favourite long weekend winery festival, Day Dance, is BACK and is expanding it’s line up to four epic wineries. Woodstock Winery and Simon Hackett Winery are returning for 2022, as well as two newcomers – Coriole Winery and Paxton Winery.

Family owned winery and olive grove, Lloyd Brothers, is getting spicy this long weekend. They’re bringing back their epic Chilli Shack for a day full of food, wine and fun.

Callum Hann, and the team at Sprout, will be serving up three mouthwatering chilli dishes. There will be a chilli prawn, chilli pork, and a chilli eggplant. There’s options for meat eaters, vegetarians, and vegans.

Coastal Sounds | Monday 12th June

Arguably Adelaide’s longest music event (for distance), Coastal Sounds features 17 live performances in 8 beautiful beachside locations in West Beach, Henley Beach, Grange, Semaphore Park’s Point Malcolm including a closing sunset session on the Semaphore Surf Life Saving Club deck overlooking the coast.

With no stages or speakers, each act will share their music with the coast as their backdrop in 8 selected walkways, reserves, shelters, and amphitheatres stretching along Adelaide’s shoreline.
