Even More New Breakfast Nooks You Have To Check Out!

To the East of Adelaide opposite the racecourse, new eatery Commissary is looking more than promising…

There’s only one of you, and one breakfast a day. But there are literally dozens of new breakfast destinations… the struggle is real Adelaide.

It’s only Tuesday and we’ve already added three more new locations this week to our ever-growing list of places to check out. What’s awesome about this week’s additions is that they’re all suburban. Don’t get us wrong, we love the city, but when something opens that could become your new local where you can wander in your pajamas and no judgement is passed as you order your third Eggs Benny, there’s magic afoot.

Get a load of this week’s newbies:

Third Time Lucky Coffee – 4/436 Henley Beach Rd

Is there something in this name? We’re not sure, but Third Time Lucky have decided to nestle themselves directly opposite the Kooyonga Golf Course halfway between the beach and city. Why there? Well, there’s already Coffee By The Beans around the corner, an the area itself is quite close to Fulham Gardens and Findon. And it’s businesses like this which get built, and bring the people!

So, what does gourmet donuts and latte art look like? Pretty damn good it seems:

Sasha’s Kitchen
– 40A Unley Rd

These guys have done a ‘soft launch’, which means they’re open but still settling in. There might be a bit of experimenting on the menu, some changes to the layout of the location, even some mixing and matching with their coffee blends. But early indications, especially when you’re plating like this before you’ve even opened, suggest that Sasha’s will make an outstanding addition to the destinations along the strip:

Talk about an incredible story from that last post! We wish them all the best!

Commissary – 160 Fullarton Rd

There’s something in a location. And 160 Fullarton Road has seen a few names grace the space over recent years. Both Urban Bistro and One 60 have called the location just opposite the Victoria Racecourse home.  With it’s picturesque view, ease of on street parking and the number of great menus which have been served through those doors, perhaps the turnover is a little surprising…

Which is why we can safely say that Commissary already looks a little gem. Playing off the existing strengths of the location, the new team share the venue name with the military and film canteens of, which brings to mind speed and functional service. But that’s selling things short.

This will in fact be a family affair, with Lebanese-Greek touches throughout. Owners Priscilla and Jimmy have drafted mother Loretta into the kitchen with Jimmy as second chef, with breakfast and lunch of equal focus. Coffee, a local wine list will compliment.

The family have previous experience in the bustling Hyde Park precinct, which should mean that it won’t take too long for the new venture to hit their straps. The area is already home to outstanding eateries such as The Corner Store and Gilberries but no dining location surrounding the CBD connects so closely to the park lands.

The potential is there. We can’t wait to see how things develop. Commissary is located at 160 Fullarton Rd And is open for breakfast and lunch 7 days a week. Follow them on Facebook to find out more details.
