This Degustation And Barn Party Dish Up Wine Heaven

Love red wine? These two July events are ones for your calendar.

We love our wine tours in the summer months, but this winter is the perfect opportunity to sample those warm winter reds in the Adelaide Hills as part of the Winter Reds Festival. It doesn’t stop when with the solstice. Park yourself by the fire and get intimate with a spicy, full bodied red this July!

Golding Wines is giving us a double helping of daytime food and festivities and a special, one-off, five course dinner with matching wine on the weekend of 27-29 July. Take your pick, buttoned up for dinner, or buttoned down for lunch the following Saturday and Sunday.

Head Chef Jack Dorset has created a delicious Friday dinner menu to complement the stars of Golding’s wine portfolio, including museum and new releases. It’s a seasonal feast of local produce with a world cuisine turn. There are limited spots for their event so get in quick.

Then on Saturday and Sunday from 12pm get into the Barn as they fire up the food and wine factor for all the family. The wood oven and outdoor fire-pit will be stoked for things smoked, spit-roasted and slow braised, served best with a Hills red.

Manning the beats on Saturday will be DJ Ant Williams, be serenaded with Adelaide locals The Sparkling Howards on Sunday! It’s family friendly so the kids can run around or do some colouring-in.

No bookings are taken for the afternoons, just rock up for hearty winter fare! There is, however, a $10 entry fee for wine consumers which entitles entry to other non-ticketed Winter Reds events and a take-home Spiegelau glass to commemorate the best that winter weekends have to offer this side of Bordeaux.

Tickets for the dinner are $95 per person as well as CBD bus pickups for an extra charge. Find more details on prices and times here.
