Virtual Reality Is Here To Change How We See The Adelaide Oval

The Adelaide Oval is one of the most beautiful sports grounds in the world. And that’s not just us talking – plenty of experts agree. Along with drawing thousands of cricket fans every year, it now has a reputation as one of the best places in the country to watch AFL but there’s still plenty happening outside of game day.

From Tuesday to Saturday you can enjoy fine dining at the acclaimed Hill Of Grace Restaurant, which features dishes like 78° Gin cured ocean trout with caper leaf, nori dust, pearl onion, pickled ginger gel and squid ink crème fraiche.

For something a little more exhilarating, the RoofClimb tour takes you on top of the stands to provide a unique perspective on the oval from a jaw-dropping 50 metres above the bright green turf – it’s an experience you’ll never forget.

Meanwhile, a range of world-class functions and event spaces inside the stands have hosted conferences and celebrations for a range of clients from around the world since the Oval redevelopment. Fortunately, you don’t have to be a world leader or celebrity to celebrate your special moment at this iconic location.

With spaces to accommodate groups from 25 to all the way up to 1500 there’s no need to cull the invite list, making Adelaide Oval the perfect spot for all kinds of celebrations and events. And now they’ve developed a new tool that allows you to see which of the spaces is perfect for your function without leaving your desk.

The Virtual Reality Tour shows 360 degree views of spaces that most visitors never get to see, like the intimate SACA President’s room which boasts a commanding view out over the oval from plush seats surrounded by a range of priceless cricket memorabilia. In the Eastern stand, the elegant Cathedral Room faces out from level three towards the imposing gothic spires of the heritage St Peter’s Cathedral, which looks spectacular during the day or when lit up at night.

The Virtual Reality tool shows how each room looks with different set ups, from seated banquets to cocktail functions. That means you know exactly what you’re getting and to really mark an occasion, function organisers can even have a personalised message spelled out on the historic scoreboard.

So if you’re looking for a way to make your next celebration extra special, look no further than Adelaide’s most iconic venue.
