Three Level, French-Influenced Wine Bar Opens In Port Adelaide

With live music, a vintage feel, a great (and growing) wine list, and build-your-own-platters, this 3 storey haven in Port Adelaide is firmly on our radar.

When we heard the name Michonne, we immediately thought of the kick arse female zombie killer in The Walking Dead. Adelaide’s newest wine bar, Michonne ‘Reds, Whites and Bites’ (yes, the whole biting thing brings us straight back to The Walking Dead again, but FOCUS PEOPLE), has launched in Port Adelaide. And it’s not a zombie haven. It’s three levels of wonderful.

Michonne specialises in Australian and International fine wines by the glass with modern bites to accompany.

“We want people to taste and try wines that they’ve not encountered before because life’s too short to drink the same wine or even worse bad wine.”

In keeping with the theme of SA, the team at Michonne aim to source their produce locally, using producers that accompany their French influence. You can design your own platter from their selection of local meats and cheeses, which are served with olives, nuts, muscatels and lavosh (a gluten free option is available). There’s also a stack of tasty toasties on the menu ranging from $16-$24.

There’s also regular live music on the cards, with local acoustic acts lined up to keep you entertained during your visit. So pick a bar table, or kick back on one of the couches, and make the most of Port Adelaide’s newest offering.

Open Wednesday 4pm-8pm, Thursday 1pm-10pm, Friday & Saturday 1pm-midnight, Sunday midday till 8pm.
229 St Vincent Street, Port Adelaide SA
