The MASSIVE final event of the Feast Festival is back in Pinky Flat!
It might be called Pinky Flat but the banks of the River Torrens will turn decidedly rainbow this Sunday, November 30 as the Feast Festival rolls in for its annual Picnic in the Park.
The official closing event of the 15 day queer cultural festival, Picnic is one of the most anticipated events on Adelaide’s LGBT calendar with more than 4500 people expected to attend.
This year’s event will be bigger and better than ever with traditional favourites including the Feast Dog Show, a tug-of-war with the Metropolitan Fire Service, live entertainment by DJ Lush and DJ Cross as well as gourmet delights by the Fork on the Road food vans and the Feast Bar.
Feeling naughty? Indulge in some adults-only fun in the lube wrestling pit, a Feast classic back by popular demand. Or jump on the mechanical bull – a new feature this year for adventurous cowboys and gals who like to ride. There will be plenty of fun for kids of all ages with a Princess bouncy castle, inflatable boxing ring, face painting, volleyball and bocce, and heaps of community stalls to browse in.
Picnic-goers can also go behind the scenes at Adelaide Oval, which will be lit up in rainbow colours especially for the event, with tours offered every half hour throughout the day. Tours are $20/$15 and $10 children, advance bookings essential on (08) 8205 4700 or [email protected].
After the hampers are packed away punters can stroll across the Morphett Street bridge to the Feast INDULGE Lounge at the Lion Arts Centre, where the fun will continue at the free Picnic After Party with DJ JoSH and DJ Clair Mydia spinning tunes from 6pm to midnight.
Picnic the day away, party through the night and say farewell to Feast Festival for another year!
