This Year’s Perks Business Boost Award Winner Announced

South Australia’s leading provider of early intervention services for children with Autism impressed the judges with its pioneering work.

Last night, under the atmospheric lights at Electra House and amongst some of the brightest minds in South Australia, we eagerly awaited the announcement of the Perks Business Boost Awards winner of 2018.

We’ve already talked about the Perks Business Boost Awards and the support they provide for emerging, local South Australian businesses. This year, South Australia’s leading provider of early intervention services for children with Autism impressed the judges with its pioneering work.

Founded by psychologist Susan Petrie, Beanstalk Child Psychology provides evidence-based applied behavioural analysis therapy for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, other disorders and challenging behaviour. It is the only company in the state to employ Board Certified Behaviour
Analysts.

“Susan and the team at Beanstalk are making a meaningful difference in the lives of children with Autism and their families, helping them to better understand, manage and address the condition at its earliest stages,” said Perks Managing Director, Mark Roderick.

“What really stood out to the judges was that nobody else is doing this work here in South Australia and we identified an opportunity to further grow a business that is already impacting the lives of so many people.”

Now in its third year, the Perks Business Boost Awards assists established and growing South Australian businesses across all sectors and industries, helping them to bring business ideas to life and manage their growth.

As part this year’s award format, the top-three overall entrants each receive a cash prize, professional services tailored to their business needs – including budgeting, forecasting finance, advisory and HR services – courtesy of Perks, and public relations and graphics design
support from leading agency Michels Warren PR and China Shop Graphic Design, with a total prize value of $40,000.

This year’s runner-up is ByGen Pty Ltd, which has developed revolutionary new technology that converts agricultural waste into high-value activated carbon for a wide variety of uses in a multibillion dollar global market. Rounding out the top three is fashion label Bubish Luxe, which
specialises in selling unique outerwear.

“With so many great entries, judging the awards is never an easy process. However, it shows just how many brilliant minds we have at work in South Australia,” Mr Roderick said. “I’d like to congratulate all our winners and we look forward to working with them to ensure that their businesses continue to thrive.”

Congratulations to Susan and the team at Beanstalk! We wish the business all the best in its endeavours.
