This City Bar Oozes 1950s Soul, Good Vibes And Great Cocktails

Tucked away just off Rundle Street lies Mr Goodbar, a swanky inner-city bar that lives by its motto: “a good place to sin”.

Adelaide’s nightlife and bar scene has really stepped up a notch in the last few years. We’ve seen the emergence of themed bars, pop-up venues and hidden gems in nooks and crannies all over the city. One we’re particularly fond of is Mr. Goodbar.

You’ll find this neat little bar down a laneway just off Rundle Street, but don’t let its tiny frontage fool you – it’s much bigger than you’d expect, and there’s certainly more than meets the eye.

They live by their motto: “a good place to sin”. The award-winning waitstaff wear waistcoats, and to top it all off there’s even a shrine dedicated to the patron saint of bartenders, “Saint Amand”. Its relaxed old-timey atmosphere makes it perfect for an after work drink or a few cheeky cocktails over the weekend.

Mr Goodbar boasts a DJ hub overlooking Ebenezer Place, which is the place to be on a Friday and Saturday night with DJ’s spitting out absolute tunes for all to enjoy. If that isn’t convincing enough the ‘Cocktail Specialists’ can whip up Insta-worthy cocktail creations, that’ll make followers jealous. Order an old school sherry cobbler or bellini and feel yourself travel back in time.

It’s the perfect destination for winter to enjoy a nice glass of wine accompanied with live music sessions on Sundays. Mr Goodbar also acts as a cellar door for wineries who don’t have their own, this kicks off every Friday from 5pm (Free Tastings 5-9pm!). In the near future they will be kicking off Whisky master classes on a monthly basis, this will also feature martinis and aperitifs.

With an incredible location, its the perfect place to have a function. With a capacity of up to 100 and full catering, it’s a cracking place to consider!
