There’s A Vegan Cupcake Pop-up Coming To The Central Markets

The sweet treats are also all 100% gluten free.

Calling all vegans with a serious sweet tooth.

Local vegan dessert gurus Nathan Bakes will be popping up at the Adelaide Central Market next week with a colourful array of delicious cupcakes.

Not only are their sweet creations 100% vegan, with no animal products used in the Nathan Bakes kitchens, they’re all also 100% gluten free.

Owner, patissier Nathan Schubert, first started experimenting with vegan and gluten free baking a decade ago.

“I felt that people with dietary restrictions didn’t get a fair deal in the dessert world,” said Nathan.

“I has just finished my training and I had a lot of friends with dietary requirement issues and there just wasn’t a lot out there, and I got sick of going out with them and them not being able to find anything to eat. So I started Nathan Bakes to try and fix that.”

Nathan has been popping up all over Adelaide, selling his cupcakes, slices, biscuits and tarts – you may have seen him previously at events at Plant 4 in Bowden, the Flinders Street Markets, Gathered, and the Vegan Affair at Colonnades.

He will be at the Central Market from Tuesday August 28 to Saturday September 15 as part of their producer in residence program. You will be able to find the stall on the north-west corner of the markets, next to O’Connell’s Meats.

Expect flavours like Reese’s peanut butter cup, with chocolate ganache, black forest cake, salted finger lime and possibly even roasted wattle seed.
