There Is Such Thing As A Free Lunch Today Thanks To OzHarvest

OzHarvest joins the United Nations Environment Programme global campaign against food waste – THINK.EAT.SAVE – today with a free hot lunch for 1500 members of the public at the University of Adelaide Goodman Lawns, North Terrace, between 11:30am and 2:30pm.

THINK.EAT.SAVE. is being held today, nation-wide, to alert people to the humanitarian, environmental, and financial implications of food waste. Food service will begin at 11:30am with an address by Ms Katrine Hildyard MP, Member for Reynell, and Lord Mayor of the Adelaide City Council, Martin Haese.

Join OzHarvest for some delicious hot meals and desserts cooked by a number of Adelaide’s most well known chefs including Tze Khaw, Philip Pope and Hamish Robertson, Gavin Robertson, Dennis Leslie, Nick Finn, Tania Tauakume, Bree May, and Dougal McFuzzlebutt.

Get a free feed and listen to a panel discussion led by OzHarvest Ambassador Keith Conlon with speakers including Simon Bryant, Richard Gunner, Tze Khaw, and Nick Thwaites aimed at prompting thought about food sustainability and encouraging people to pledge to reduce food waste.

Some of Adelaide’s top food personalities will also be rolling up their sleeves to assist OzHarvest in the fight against food waste.

So come down today at 11:30am to the Goodman Lawns at the University of Adelaide to rub shoulders with Callum Hann, Rebecca Sullivan, Amanda McInerney, and Silvia Hart, and pledge to fight food waste.

Visit thinkeatsave.ozharvest.org to pledge to reduce food waste, and snap a photo of an “X” made from utensils or food items to represent stopping food waste and share via social media using the hashtag #thinkeatsave.
