Think showbags are just for kids? Well you might want to sit down for this one.
Forget the Bertie Beetles – at this year’s Royal Adelaide Show there will be a Cheese and Wine Showbag. For real.
The showbag is the creation of online artisan cheese site The Cheese Riot, with owner Anna Perejma wanting to create something for grown ups.
“I used to love the showbags when I was little, and I would always go to the show with my family. But I thought there should be more for adults too,” she said.
The even better news – as if that wasn’t enough already – is you can choose your own inclusions from a range of artisan cheeses and wines, with a focus on South Australian producers. The showbag also includes other goodies like crackers and specially created cheese socks. It will set you back between $35-$75, depending on your selection.

The cheese socks will also be available to buy individually, and sound like a good Father’s Day pressie options if you ask us.
Don’t go heading to the showbag pavilion for this one though. The cheese and wine showbag will be available from The Cheese Riot’s stall in the Goyder Food and Wine Pavilion.
