The Tutti Choir and The Choir of Hope and Inspiration Combined Concert

Tutti CurtainAfter the Tutti Choir’s rousing final Broadway Spectacular chorus with the Unley Concert Band at Elder Hall on Sunday 4 July, Tuttiā€™s Artistic Director Pat Rix announced the exciting news that Jonathan Welch and the Choir of Hope and Inspiration (formerly the Choir of Hard Knocks) would be joining Tutti in September for a combined concert.

Fresh back from working with groups at the London International Festival of Theatre, and opening the first Australian Sing-posium at Melbourne’s Federation Square in Melbourne with Mr Welch, Ms Rix said she was delighted the concert was going ahead as she and Mr Welch had been keen to collaborate for some time. Ā In 2009 Tutti soloists had joined Mr Welch for an ‘unforgettable’ performance at the Lord Mayor’s Australia Day lunch at the Adelaide Town Hall and the seed was sown.

Tutti and the Choir of Hope and Inspiration will present two concerts at Elder Hall on the afternoon and evening of 18 September.

Tutti was established in 1997 as Australiaā€™s first inclusive choir, and the organisation has since grown into a leading Visual and Performing Arts organisation inspiring well over 200 participants statewide.Ā  As a Key Producer with the Australia Council and national winner in the Music Council of Australiaā€™s inaugural Music In Communities Award, Tutti provides a creative milieu for aspiring disabled artists and community artists alike.

Tutti is increasingly being internationally recognised as an outstanding model of artistic excellence, social inclusion and community cultural development. Fundamental to Tuttiā€™s philosophy is the belief that education of both disadvantaged people and the wider community is essential to successful social inclusion.
