Everybody paws, there’s a Canine Cup coming to Adelaide this March. Complete with bubbles, lunch, fashion and of course, oodles of pups, this day is not to be missed. Held on the Adelaide Cup public holiday, the Guardian Angel Animal Rescues’ cruelty free Canine Cup incorporates everything great about a race day, with none of the bad.
Quite shockingly, roughly one horse dies every three days on Australian race tracks. This is a statistic we don’t often hear about and one that is truly disturbing. In this alternative race, rescue dogs and puppies will be running towards their favourite toy or treats (that is, only if they feel like running); free-willed and cute, just the way it should be.
It will be an afternoon of fun, food, fashion and friends. Included in the $80pp package is a glass of bubbles on arrival followed by a three-course scrumptious vegetarian lunch. There will also be raffles, a silent auction and fashions from the ‘field’. So get your friends together, book a table, frock up and join in the fun for an alternative event which will provide much needed funds for Guardian Angel Animal Rescue SA Inc. There will be pre-recorded races running throughout the day, meaning you can also join in the sweeps.
The guest of honour will be Pikelet. Packing his bags and flying in from Sydney, Pikelet will be doing what he can to raise raise funds, ensuring that Guardian Angel Animal Rescue SA can save and re-home more dogs just like him.
Guardian Angel Animal Rescue SA Inc is a small volunteer-based rescue in South Australia. Their primary focus is to rescue, rehabilitate, train and re-home companion animals Australia wide. Hoping to raise $10,000 from this event, the money will all go towards helping this cause to continue their much needed support.
Oh and there is a discount code offered to Glam Adelaide readers. Use the discount code GLAM when booking, and you can get $70 tickets instead of paying $80.
