The Mississippi Moon (Bar) Is Rising This Week!

Get ready for some knee whackin’ good times when Adelaide’s newest bar opens…

Cue the thick (and really bad) Southern American accent, there’s a new bar on the horizon and it is bringing the good ol’ Mississippi to Adelaide’s CBD.

This little gem has snuck up on us rather quietly but we can only assume that all of the noise will start as soon as it opens its doors. You will find Mississippi Moon on Gresham Street (and not hidden in a bayou), with neighbours including Bibliotheca and La Buvette.

Think blues, jazz, old rock and roll, spirits, premium liquor, and maybe even some moonshine… This drinkery/saloon is inspired by the traditions of Tunica, Rolling Fork and all the watering holes in between.

After months of elbow grease, owner Michael West will finally reveal his hand-crafted southwest haven. Picture old-world wallpaper, a floor to ceiling mural, internal timber cladding, all the perfect setting for us to enjoy some of the delicious fare on offer. Hello, jerked meats!

And hot damn this place is set to get the dern tootin’ good times started when it officially opens on Wednesday 16 December. This honky tonk (that is a bar) is going to be granny-slappin’ good (not literally, of course)!

Fun fact: Google has all the answers when you need to get your hands on some Southern American slang sayings!
