The Kooks Are Coming To Adelaide (And Their Gig Is Super Soon)

It’s been a long five years since their last visit, but the Brit-pop revivalists have announced they’re heading our way.

It’s been a long five years since their last visit, but Brit-pop revivalists The Kooks are coming to Adelaide.

They’ll be here on December 28 to headline Beach Life, a festival-style set-up complete with perfect sunset view on the Glenelg foreshore at Jimmy Melrose Park.

The Kooks will kick off the 2018 New Year’s weekend, bringing their own personalised selection of Australia’s hottest musical talent, transforming Glenelg into a one-day festival for an evening of starry night sky sing-alongs.

Also on the lineup is funk rockers Winston Surfshirt, Brisbane’s Last Dinosaurs, and Adelaide’s homegrown rising star, MANE.

The Kooks will bring all the grit, glory and jangling guitars of the indie Brit-pop scene they’ve ruled for over a decade, armed with what is said to be the guitar album of 2018 and a back catalogue of pure indie gold.

The Kooks have enjoyed a steady ascent since their five-times platinum 2006 debut Inside In/Inside Out. A new wave of young fans have seen them amass over one billion streams and head out on a number of sold out world tours.

Beach Life is on Friday December 28 and is 18+. For tickets head to beachlifefestival.com.au.
