The Fat Stag, Exactly What The East End Needs

The iconic Stag may be gone, but in its place come the slightly chunkier version The Fat Stag and it will be exactly what the East End needs… Find out why here…

The Stag may be gone but it certainly won’t be forgotten as the iconic 166-year-old building gets a new look and a new name (sort of)…

Say hello to the slightly chunkier and much better version, The Fat Stag. Set to open next Tuesday, with its multi-million dollar renovation plus a new Chef keeping a watchful eye on the pass, this place is looking the goods.

The owners, Adelaide businessman Philip Speakman, hospitality wiz Chris Kenny, Dean Grant a Melbourne Hotel Guru and lawyer Jamie Heal, have brought on an expert.

He just so happens to be the ex-chef from amazing Adelaide restaurant Assaggio and Camillo Crugnale will no doubt be producing some phenomenal food. With 35 years of experience under his belt, we don’t doubt that.

The totally gutted and refurbished hotel (which was decked out by local architects Dash) will be more than just a ‘pub’. In fact it won’t be anything like a pub, with its fine dining restaurant The Vardon, a Champagne bar and a chic and sexy marble front bar… We think this is exactly what the East End needs/wants/can’t wait to have!
