The Cosy Cafe Kicking Goals In Dulwich

It just might be the cutest coffee haunt in town (and it even has a cubby house!)

Well this just might be the cutest coffee haunt in town.

Set in an old house, complete with white picket fence, the aptly named White Picket opened 18 months ago in Dulwich.

Owner Anthony Pollina completely redeveloped the space, which has previously also housed a clothing shop and barber. He polished up the floorboards, added lounges and a verandah, plus put in a back lawn.

Anthony says White Picket pours the, “best coffee in Dulwich”. And he should know – he’s worked in the coffee industry for 15 years, starting out with a Cibo franchise. They pour their own blend roasted in Thebarton by D’Angelo Coffee, who Anthony has worked closely with since back in 2004.

To eat, they serve up an all-day brunch menu. Not only is everything made on site, but the majority of the menu can be served gluten free. In the morning you can choose from porridge, “not another smashed avocado dish” with feta, lime, beetroot, and spiced pepitas, eggs benny, or the highly addictive ‘Pierre’s brioche’ French toast with mascarpone and banana caramel sauce.

For later in the day there are burgers, soup, and seafood dishes plus a whole menu dedicated to the little ones.

While there are grab and go food options available for takeaway, White Picket is a spot for hanging around, with plenty of space and light-filled rooms. And this is one to take the kids too – the back lawn boasts the kind of cubby they’re going to wish was in their own backyard.

No time to hang around and you’re in a rush? We feel you. White Picket have teamed up with Skip, an app that lets you order ahead of time so everything’s ready for you when you arrive.

White Picket, 10 Stuart Rd, Dulwich. Open Mon – Fri 6.30am-3pm, Sat 7am-3pm, Sun 8am-2pm. whitepicket.com.au.
