Celebrity chefs and netball captains are usually the ones who give the orders, but that will change this Thursday 22 April for the launch of the 2010 San Remo Regatta.
Tasting Australia Festival Director Ian Parmenter, restaurateur chef Adam Swanson and Thunderbirds Co-Captain and Australian Netball Diamonds Vice Captain Natalie von Bertouch will be put through their paces by young sailors between the ages of 10 and 15 in 3.2m boats.
The event marks the launch of the 2010 San Remo Regatta, to be held along the River Torrens in the first weekend of May as part of Tasting Australia.
The San Remo Regatta will involve up to 15 boats skippered by sailors between the ages of 10 and 15, competing for the San Remo Trophy. It will take place in front of the Festival Centre at the Feast for the Senses along the Riverbank Precinct from 11am to 4pm on Saturday 1 May and Sunday 2 May.
The head of sales & marking, Michael Neale said, “San Remo has a strong focus on helping children to understand the importance of a healthy lifestyle by making sensible food choices and being active”.
Tasting Australia Festival Director Ian Parmenter said this was the first time the San Remo Regatta had been held as part of Tasting Australia.
The launch will kick off at 4pm Thursday 28 April at the Pinky Flat along the River Torrens.
