Fringe News: The Breast is Yet to Come

Award winning Adelaide comedienne Amelia Ryan has returned home for the 2018 Adelaide Fringe with her debaucherous cabaret show The Breast is Yet to Come, her most unique and demanding performance.

The show explores arguably the most challenging period womanhood from pregnancy to parenthood and all the trials and tribulations that come with it. With a slightly less glamorous aesthetic – think spew rags and functional fun bags, the show is a warts and all exploration of the less finer, but much funnier parts of the child rearing process.

Essentially the Breast Is Yet To Come boils down to one essential question: is early motherhood the best time in your life, or is it something to be endured with the best yet to come?

Amelia is accompanied by Helpmann award winner Michael Griffiths on the keyboard. Michael has accompanied her in every cabaret festival across Australia.  Amelia has previously taken to the stages in major arts hubs like New York, London and Edinburgh, with award-winning shows: A Storm In A D Cup, Lady Liberty, Livvy & Pete.

Amelia has certainly come a long way on the cabaret circuit, having co-won the 2012 Your Theatrics International Cabaret Contest, while her show A Storm In A D Cup won Best Cabaret at Adelaide Fringe Weekly Awards. Lady Liberty was also  nominated for Best Cabaret Nomination at Fringe World awards.

The Breast is Yet to Come is playing at The Speigel Zelt in Gluttony on 24 & 25 February 24-25, March 3, 4 and 10.
