The Must-Have Guide To What’s On In Adelaide This April

If you thought Mad March was over, April has more events than we know what to do with.

Just like that, all the madness of March is over and April is giving us some time to recover. But, that doesn’t mean you’ll being stocking up the pantry and get cosy on the sofa for a binge session of Netflix. No, that’s not how we do it in Adelaide. This month is filled with relaxed vibes and lots of food and wine for all to enjoy. There will be wedding fairs, festivals, the biggest South Australian LEGO exhibit, Brick-A-Laide, and of course Easter to tie us over until next month rolls in.

Saturday, April 1 – East End Wine Down. The annual ‘tastefest’ of the city, East End Wine Down, is back again for another year, and is set to be the largest event yet. Following a sell-out crowd last year, Adelaide’s premier Cellars, East End Cellars is again proudly presenting the East End Wine Down, now in its fourteen year. With 42 wineries all showcasing four or more wines, there’ll be 160 different wines to taste as well as a host of SA made ciders beers and a dedicated gin bar.

Saturday, April 1 – Houndwave. Can we get a bow wow for the genius that came up with this?! Houndwave is Adelaide’s pooch-friendly music festival with markets and doggies galore. The free community event will take over Light Square with a great live music live up. Bring along your furry mates for a good time. No cats allowed.

Saturday, April 1 – Flickerfest. returns to The Mercury to celebrate the most entertaining and innovative short filmmaking from around the world. Offering two handpicked selections to showcase the Best Of Australian Shorts and the Best Of International Shorts from this year’s event, The Mercury will showcase 17 shorts from the Flickerfest 2017 program.This is a one-off chance to see these amazing short films before they continue their journey around the world; expect to experience the best in short filmmaking Australia has on offer. Saturday, April 1 – Sunday, April 2 – Oz Comic Con. Release your inner nerd! Don’t deny it, we all have one. It’s back for another year and there’s plenty to check out; exhibitors, the gaming zone, the family activity room and the brand new anime station. Saturday, April 8 – Adelaide’s Ultimate Ladies Night. A girls night out is just what we need! The entertainment will begin as soon as you step into the Stamford Grand Ballroom. What do we mean? Rowland will be taking you through the botanicals used to make and flavour the gins at Settlers, to show you how it all goes together. Friday, April 14 – Sunday, April 30 – Sand Sculpting Australia Presents ‘Alice In Wonderland. Sunday, April 30 – National Wine Centre: Wedding Open Day. The award winning venue is open for you to experience.
