The Audi German Film Festival Hits Adelaide for the first time

Audi German Film FestivalThe 9th annual Audi German Film Festival hits Adelaide for the first time this year!

The 2010 festival isn’t limited to its 30 new features! There is an array of gala launches, special guests including famed German director Sönke Wortmann, discussion panels and the ever popular Golden Gnome Audience awards.

The festival will open with a gala preview of Soul Kitchen from renowned director Faith Akin, which dazzled critics at the 2009 Venice Film Festival, winning the Special Jury Prize.

The 2010 Festival will be divided into several sections highlighting the depth and diversity of German cinema. Within the culinary comedy section, Soul Kitchen, Tandoori Love and Kebab Connection will be screened, whilst the Berlin component will feature a slate of Berlin-based films, from The Wolves of Berlin and Berlin ’36 to the 1999 classic Aimée & Jaguar. As well as theses, they will also be showcasing the latest German titles, along with a select retrospective on the work of Soul Kitchen writer/director Fatih Akin.

The festival kicks off  at the Palace Nova, Rundle St, on Friday May 7 finishing up on Sunday May 9.
