The Duo From Adelaide Blowing Everyone Away With Their Must Hear Debut Track

You may not have heard of Adelaide duo Auguste, but you will want to, trust us… Hear their debut track here.

Adelaide based step-sister duo Auguste have unveiled their powerful debut track ‘Slow Motion’ and it is taking off around the world.

Skye Lockwood and Beth Keoug, who met as teens 5 years ago and have been collaborating on musical projects ever since, only came together as Auguste last August. The duo’s name, apart from the obvious, also has a special family meaning behind it.

With a very electro-pop sound, Slow Motion is a step away from the acoustic vibes that the girls were originally writing. The song, with its ‘early LondonGrammar’ vibe, has captured the attention of the music world and music lovers alike. The brooding and evocative female vocals, which are lifted through the haunting orchestral swell are all consuming and so smooth to listen to.

The cherry on top for ‘Slow Motion’, is the ingenious production styles of Andy Bull; currently one of Australia’s most prolific alt-pop singer/songwriter/producers and touring artists. Skye and Beth’s soft, strong and carefully considered vocals dance around each other delightfully, articulating a sonic story of lust and desire.

A song about infatuation, ‘Slow Motion’ is about the feeling of complete disarmament when someone you desire walks into your eye line and consumes every inch of your attention.

Skye (one half of the duo) says of the track: “[‘Slow Motion’ is] about that feeling you get when you unexpectedly see someone you are in love with or infatuated by. Everything starts to move in slow motion and feelings come crashing in from all directions, both physically and emotionally.”

Since their debut track was released two weeks ago it already has over 75,000 plays on Soundcloud. As they continue to write for what should be the release of an EP with a tour (hopefully) in the near future, this is one Adelaide duo that you will want to keep your eye on.
