Take A Look At BA:M Adelaide’s Tasty New Summer Menu

To celebrate their first birthday, BA:M Adelaide introduced a revamped summer menu packed full of gorgeous summer cocktails, sweet treats, and some of the tastiest KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) in town.

As you walk down Currie Street, you might easily pass this humble little gem by—but BA:M Adelaide deserves a double-take.

Stepping inside transports you to a new world. Surrounded by blonde timber furnishings, hanging lanterns, and the mouth-watering scent of KFC (Korean Fried Chicken, that is), you can just imagine that outside lies the sparkling city of Seoul.

This home away from home for all foodie things Korean celebrated its first birthday this month and co-owner, Rose Heo, says the best is yet to come.

We think she was talking about BA:M‘s new summer menu, which has been reworked to include lighter, more refreshing options perfect for summer and boasts a spectacular selection of desserts lovingly and painstakingly curated by executive chef, Park, a former Hilton Adelaide Pâtissier.

For those of you new to Korean food, the Platter For Two is loaded with BA:M’s signature dishes, like beef rib, the KFC, king prawn, and bulgogi wraps to name a few, so you can try out a little bit of everything. Make sure everyone involved gets a taste of the Rolling Duck (three colour vegetables and duck wrapped in pickled radish with vinegar wasabi sauce), which deserve a whole platter of their own!

With the change of season comes an exciting new batch of Korean Fried Chicken flavours. The Gangham Chicken (which tastes as fun as it sounds) is coated in a soy vinaigrette and topped with marinated onion and chilli. It’ll probably be your favourite new flavour—until you taste the chicken and ice cream.

You heard right. Chicken and ice cream. It sounds like it goes against the law of nature, but it tastes like heaven on earth. Release your inhibitions and just try a piece, because you’ll be addicted afterwards.

While there’s been a lot of talk of chicken, BA:M also has some gluten-free and vegan-friendly options, like their zesty lotus and berry salad and the assorted mushrooms and green shoots cooked in a divine garlic sauce. (Their BA:M Bowls served up at lunchtime are also all-dietary-requirements friendly!)

BA:M are also excited to be adding some desserts to the summer menu. Choose from the sweet and slightly tangy Yuzu Lemon Tart served with seasonal berries, mini-meringue, and mango raspberry coulis, or the Matcha Cheesecake dished up with pink honeycomb and Korean pop-rice.

And if you’re a fan of cocktails, do yourself a favour and try the the new tea-tails (tea cocktails)! You’ve got a choice between rum-spiked cinnamon tea or spiked peach tea—but the rum-spiked cinnamon tea is a must have for anyone in the festive spirit, because it tastes like Christmas.

Do yourself a favour and swing by to say happy birthday and try BA:M’s new menu at 20 Currie Street. They’re open Monday to Friday for lunch from 11:30am to 2:30pm and dinner from 5:30pm to 11pm. Doors are also open on Saturday for dinner from 5:30pm to 11pm.
