TAFE SA fashion design students make a splash

Design by Ali CawteLike Australia’s top fashion designers, TAFE SA final year Fashion Design students have created their own one piece black bathing suit inspired by Australia’s original mermaid Annette Kellerman.

The design competition Woollen Mermaids is a collaborative competition undertaken by TAFE SA, the South Australian Maritime Museum, and Michell Wool.

The students had eight days to design and construct their cossies using wool/lycra from Michell Wool.

As part of the competition two lucky students, join South Australia’s top fashion designers in parading their bathers at the Exposed! the story of swimwear exhibition launch on Thursday 25 February at the South Australian Maritime Museum.
