Australian Flame captain Steve Hooker will join Minister for Recreation and Sport Hon. Tom Kenyon MP at Santos Stadium on Wednesday, November 30 at 10:00am, with the duo set to launch the 2012 Australian Athletics Tour and specifically the Adelaide Track Classic.
The first stop of the 2012 Australian Athletics Tour, the Adelaide Track Classic sees the return of a national athletics meet to South Australia for the first time in six years.
The Australian Athletics Tour, and the broader National Athletics Series, pits Australia’s best track and field stars alongside some of the world’s best as they push for nomination to Australia’s Olympic team.
Hooker is the current Olympic champion and the Australian domestic season will launch his campaign to defend that title. He is the IAAF world indoor champion and the Australian record holder with a personal best of 6.06m.
