Step Right Up to the Kangaroo Island Cup

Kangaroo Island Cup

Kangaroo Island’s Cygnet River Racecourse will come alive from the 15th – 17th February for three days of country racing action and partying, and SeaLink is offering punters the best seat in the house with its newly released range of race-day and longer stay packages including return coach transfers and ferry travel.

“The KI Cup transforms the Cygnet River Racecourse into a vibrant trackside environment with colourful marquees, fashion, entertainment, local food and wine and a country party atmosphere that is hard to beat,” SeaLink Marketing Manager Julie-Anne Briscoe says.

“SeaLink has developed a range of packages for the Kangaroo Island Cup, making it the perfect excuse for a day trip, a long weekend away or maybe a little longer.”

Priced from $322 per person ex Cape Jervis, the Black Caviar Self-Drive KI Cup Package is a sure bet. It includes return ferry travel to Penneshaw with your car, overnight accommodation including breakfast, dinner and live entertainment at the All Seasons Kangaroo Island Lodge at American River and general admission to the KI Cup. Book into the exclusive trackside Eden Marquee with an all-inclusive lunch and drinks package for an extra $140 per person.

For those who wish to leave the car at home, the Phar Lap KI Cup Package is a winner. Priced from $332 per person, it includes the same itinerary as the Black Caviar package, instead with return coach connections from Adelaide and Cape Jervis, return transfers from Penneshaw to American River and return transfers to the racecourse.

The Might and Power Self-Drive KI Cup Package combines the best of the races and a chance to explore the famed food and wine of Kangaroo Island. Priced from $547 per person, it includes return ferry travel to Penneshaw with your car, two nights’ accommodation including breakfast, dinner and live entertainment at the All Seasons Kangaroo Island Lodge, a half day exclusive KI food and wine tour including tastings at Sunset Winery and a long lunch at Dudley Cellar Door, and general admission to the KI Cup.

Once again for those who choose to leave their car at home, there’s a two night package called the Makybe Diva KI Cup Package, with all the inclusions of the Might and Power Package and priced from $557 per person ex Adelaide including all transfers.

For people travelling from Cape Jervis for the main race day on Sunday 17th February, SeaLink is offering return ferry and shuttles including general admission to the KI Cup priced at $108 from Cape Jervis, or if you are based on Kangaroo Island $44 from Penneshaw and $40 from American River.

“Whether booking a self-drive package where you can take your own car and explore the island at your own pace, or if you want to relax and let our friendly and professional coach drivers shuttle you around, SeaLink’s KI Cup packages cater for everyone,” Ms Briscoe says.
