Spritz Bar & Garden Launches In Time For Summer

Adelaide’s first producer of Limoncello; Ambra Liqueurs, has recently undergone a fresh and colourful facelift to evolve their brand and reposition themselves in the market place. Best of all, this accompanies a refresh of their Cellar Door and Spritz garden, and the launch of a brand new mobile Spritz bar!

Owners Peppe Fusco and Nando Focareta have a vision to bring their business into the future, to connect with the younger generation and establish a new era of fun-loving loyalists.

Since commencing production in 1998 the Thebarton based operation has expanded their range to offer exciting, new handcrafted flavours such as Agrumello (orange), Tangelo, Chocolatino, Amaretto (almond) and Cappuccino which provides a base for the perfect Espresso Martini.

Their staple product Limoncello originated in Southern Italy on the Amalfi Coast over 100 years ago, of which Ambra Liqueurs seeks to maintain the same authentic and traditional qualities in their production.

The clean, natural flavours lend themself to the warmer months as the perfect base for an invigorating spritz when mixed with Soda and Prosecco.

Ambra Liqueurs source their ingredients from local growers and producers across South Australian regions like the Barossa, Riverland and Adelaide Hills.

“Ambra often purchases lemons that are too large for standard supermarket retail sales “says Nando.

“They are unwaxed with vibrant rind and contain an abundance of flavour which is perfect for our Limoncello” he adds.

Up until recent times, Ambra Liqueurs had predominantly focussed on the simplicity of being a smooth sipping beverage, but with new customers such as Ruby Red Flamingo, Georges on Waymouth and Osteria Oggi, they are now engaging more with restaurants and chefs to discover and experiment with the flexibility of their products in cooking.

They are also expanding their range into the small bar scene, with bar tenders utilising the natural flavours to brighten and create interesting concoctions.

“The renovations and new eye-catching colour scheme have completely transformed our Cellar Door and Spritz garden, providing a welcoming, relaxing and fun environment which gets people in the mood for a refreshing spritz or casual cocktail with friends” says Peppe.

The latest addition to their family is Sophia, a Piaggio imported from Italy and customised here in South Australia to provide a mobile spritz bar at local bars and events across the state as well as being available for hire for private functions.

This is the first of its kind in Adelaide and is reminiscent of the Italian version of an Aussie ute.

Ambra Liqueurs Cellar Door and Spritz Bar at 43 Phillips Street, Thebarton are open Wednesday – Thursday 9am – 5pm and Friday: 9am til late along with the first Saturday of every month from 1pm to 5pm.
