Spend A Evening With Alannah Hill in Adelaide!

Last time Alannah Hill was in Adelaide, she motorboated a friend of mine. She’s since launched a new fashion label, reinvented her life, and written her memoirs – and she’s coming to Adelaide to share her experiences with you.

When I attended the launch of the new Alannah Hill boutique on Rundle Street all those years ago, the larger than life personality of the famous Australian designer didn’t disappoint. Loud, brash, bold, colourful and fantastic, Alannah Hill attended as though she was the star of her own cabaret festival, fringe show, or circus. She didn’t need us to be there for justify her talent – she was spectacular and filled with life. And we were all just lucky to be along for the ride.

Her insanely brilliant talent for designing fashion was secondary as she bedazzled the guests with her anecdotes, and if my memory serves me correctly, she even motorboated Kirsty Whicker, which resulted in hysterical laughter by all around. Here is a woman who gives zero f*cks and isn’t afraid to live her best life.

Fast forward to today, and Alannah Hill is a designer, author and stylist. In 2013 Alannah left her eponymous brand and in 2015 launched her new fashion brand LOUISE LOVE. She’s also been busy writing her new book Butterfly on a Pin. This extraordinary book is the fierce and intelligent account of how a freckle-faced teenage runaway metamorphosed into a trailblazer and true original.

To help launch Alannah Hill’s new book, she’s heading to Adelaide and will be spending an evening at the Burnside Library, where you can head along, drink champagne and enjoy nibbles with the iconic woman herself. Hear her speak about her new book, and gain some insight into one of Australia’s most interesting entrepreneurs.
