If you’re single and keen not to be, there’s nothing quite like Mariah’s ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You‘ blaring at you from the speakers at every place you go to remind you of that fact.
Luckily Adelaide social club for singles Social 8 has your back this silly season with plenty of events for singles who are more than ready to mingle.
Run by Adelaide’s self-proclaimed Love Doctor Jane Donovan, Social 8 provides opportunities for single people aged 30 to 70 who are keen to get off the dating apps and websites and meet offline.
They run a range of events, from dinners for six to large social mixers, cocktail parties, lunches, mystery bar tours, and activity-based events.
And they’re stepping things up in the lead up to the new year.
On Friday December 14, there’s a Mystery Bar Tour starting at the gorgeous courtyard of the Treasury 1860 Hotel before heading on to more mystery venues. Along the way you can meet new people over laughs, drinks and live music to finish off the evening.
Then on Thursday December 20, there’s the Social 8 Christmas Cocktail Party, with more than 100 fabulous singles to jingle and mingle with at the Horizons Cocktail Lounge at the Stamford Grand Hotel in Glenelg. Dress to impress – you never know who you might meet.
On the night before Christmas, there will be Christmas Eve Drinks at the Kent Town Hotel’s rooftop bar from 5pm. Take along all your single friends – the more the merrier after all!
Then recuperate after Christmas with a relaxed lunch in the beer garden at The Ed from noon.
Social 8 also runs more intimate dinners with three ladies and three men where you’re matched with other singles within your age range with similar interests. Want more information? Head to social8adelaide.com.
