Scott Jamieson Joins Sydney FC

Scott JamiesonAdelaide United FC defender Scott Jamieson has agreed to terms with Hyundai A-League 2010 Champions Sydney FC, signing a two year deal.

Jamieson spent two years with Adelaide and played 49 matches, which also included a Socceroo debut last year, after being signed from Bolton Wanderers in England.

In his first season with the Reds he was crowned the “AUFC Young Player of the Year”, as well as the “A-League Rising Star Award” after taking the Hyundai A-League by storm.

Reds coach Aurelio Vidmar said that losing Jamieson to Sydney, was another step towards his football career and his journey of becoming a better footballer.

“We wish Scott all the best, he was great for us but he has opted for a new chapter in his football career, and he goes with our blessing. Scott always gave 100% and always played with passion” Vidmar said.

Jamieson said he enjoyed his time with Adelaide and will miss his team mates, and is grateful for the opportunity that was given to him to play in the A-League two seasons ago.

“I absolutely loved it, everything about Adelaide, the people the club my teammates, and the people that brought me to the club like Sam (Ciccarello) and Aurelio (Vidmar) and the opportunity they gave me, they all made me feel so welcome”. Jamieson said.

“But leaving the boys who I can call some of my best mates is tough, but that’s football and you have to get on with it. Playing against them will be a new experience, but you gotta take out the emotion and hype out of it. I have got nothing but respect for my team mates, and also the Adelaide United fans who were fantastic while I was there over the two years, and it will be a special moment for me playing against the club.”

Jamieson paid special mention to Aurelio Vidmar, the staff and the people at the club.
