Entries are now open! All South Australian school children are invited to let their creative juices flow and take part in the 2018 Credit Union Christmas Pageant ‘Design a Mini-Float’ competition.
Children aged between five and sixteen are encouraged to enter a world of fun and fantasy and design their own mini-float, with the winning design to be built by the elves at Stardust Castle and then showcased in the Credit Union Christmas Pageant on Saturday, November 10.
In 2007, the ‘Design a Mini-Float’ competition was first introduced. It calls upon students enter a fantastical world and have fun with the Christmas theme. Ever since the competition’s first introduction in 2007, thousands of designs have been submitted.

The winning design of 2017 was chosen from more than 250 entries. Para Vista Primary School winner, Sophia Ivanica, was bursting with joy as her ‘Snowman’ was viewed by 330,000 people who lined the streets of Adelaide.
David Ridgway, Minister for Tourism, Trade & Investment says,“The Credit Union Christmas Pageant is an iconic community event that South Australians have grown up with, it’s exciting that our kids have the opportunity to contribute to the event in such a meaningful way.”

Each mini-float is judged on its originality and the overall creativity of the design so go ahead and draw your inspiration from fantasy, fairy tales and all things Christmas! A prize of $500 for the winner will be awarded thanks to the four sponsoring Credit Unions and winning entrants can enjoy a reserved space for their family, friends and class mates on the Blue Honour Line where they can see their mini-float debut on Pageant day.
