Movenpick on Leigh StreetMövenpick officially launched in Adelaide last night, bringing their heritage Swiss ice cream and gourmet desserts to Leigh Street in the city.

Lucky diners were treated with a degustation of decadent delights and mouth-watering morsels at tables set to reflect the theme of a log cabin in the Swiss Alps.

The boutique ice-cream gallery offers a selection of sophisticated desserts including ice-cream filled macarons, shortbread stacks, and a selection of waffles and pancakes.

Mövenpick is made from natural ingredients, which is reflected in the rich flavours of the sorbets and ice creams.

The salted caramel Macaron filled with ice cream is particularly indulgent, but completely worth it, and, if you’re a fan of nuts, the pistachio macaron has a pistachio and almond flavour, reminiscent of creamy marzipan.

The mango sorbet is made using Alphonso mangoes from India because, according to owner Vanessa Wong, they are the best; likewise, they use Australian macadamias because they are second to none.

A range of milk drinks, smoothies and shakes are available, as well as sparkling sorbet beverages, of which the raspberry flavour is exceptional.

Coffee, Affogato and hot chocolate will complement a dessert, brighten the morning or accompany a lunchtime treat – Mövenpick is open morning until night.

Mövenpick in South Australia is now the largest store nationally with seating for 80 customers and a range of dine in and takeaway options.

Mövenpick is made in Switzerland with no artificial additives, no artificial flavourings and no artificial colours, which means it’s an almost 100% guilt free experience.
